Sin [ Quote ]

When sin can easily win us,
We slay the god within us.

Personal Freedom and Redemption

We are always in control, even in our most lowest state. The power of redemption is always within reach. We must be able to by-pass the barriers of self-imposed limitations which stifle our awareness and cloud our vision of our own personal power and control. Free will persists eternally. It is within the nature of all beings to cultivate freedom through the right use of will power, and redefine our relationship with ourselves and life. Personal freedom does not exist when we’re slaves to wrong living. Freedom for many people is the unquestionable right to destroy ourselves if we choose to through unconscious and heedless living.

True freedom is the total refinement of self and the constructive use of resources in harmony with nature’s constructive laws. Freedom is never an outward adjustment, but an inward realization and orientation. True freedom looks like peace and fulfilment; false freedom looks like disquiet and angst, the chronic need for something outside of us to bring meaning and satisfaction.

We are ultimately the saviours of ourselves by the gentle and gradual adjustment of our own inward natures.

Vision, Potential, Power and Limits

There is no limit to the unfoldment of ourselves. We create limitations simply to house our experience, but we may become hopelessly defined by those limitations and lose sight of the possibilities beyond our self-created world. We must continue stretching out from what may appear to be the limits or the peak of our vision, potential, and personal power.

We begin to find that all previous ways of living have actually been cocoons for us to emerge from. That all we believed to be the cutting-edge of our potential, were but embryonic skin to be shed. If we are truly able to cultivate a perspective of growth and unfoldment, then we can avoid being defined and restricted by limiting beliefs and modes of living simply by realizing that we can always forward ourselves to the degree that we have the courage to do so, by breaking through our present shape and mould.

The more aware we are of the limitless possibilities of unfoldment, the sooner we begin to stitch together the inner-life and outer-life towards self-completeness. Our outer-life actions will then be following the inward impulse toward greater possibility, rather than simply conforming to the desires of what’s going on around us in the world. We now begin to take refuge in the fact of our own aspirations and inclinations without the need to define ourselves based on where we happen to be in one moment or the next, we realize we’re always changing and unfolding towards new and novel dimensions and experiences of self and life.

The keynote here is this: we simultaneously create both possibility and limitation. The dance of the two is what makes experience possible. Self-mastery then begins with the wise application of power, and right use of limits.

The Guiding Star of Truth

Whatever happens to you in life, never let your inner eye lose sight of the guiding star of truth. The world around us may fall into ruin and darkness, but nothing in this world has the power or right to touch the higher life of man. Darkness and chaos can only destroy that of its kind; those things built from illusion and falsehood. If we live in darkness, then we are nourishing the illusion. If we live in the light of truth, justice, virtue, then there is a power that walks beside us, and it will guide us and reveal to us the true measure of our devotion to Truth. By living with Truth as our criterion for thought, word, and action, we will remain unmoved by the ignorance, chaos, and darkness that may surround us.

Knowing Our Life’s Work

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is mystery. NOW is the time to cultivate the seed of destiny within us. We are each here with a purpose contained inside us which without conscious unfoldment will never sproat, and the seed will wither under the weight of our lesser concerns. Self-observation will bring us into the insights necessary to uncover our prime work in this life and live it with total commitment, dedication, and the sacrifice of all that’s in the way of living our life’s work.
